A Subtlety

A Subtlety opened at the long time closed Domino Sugar Factory a mere 5 minute walk from our place. Today we strolled down to check it out assuming the crowd would be much less on Mother’s Day. We wanted to go to check out the work, but equally to check out the space. For all the years we’ve lived here, we’ve never been inside. Today that changed. It’s vast and sweet smelling. The piece itself sits very well in a place such as this. And it’s interesting to the see the sphinx as a goddess of sorts, but who is also imprisoned by the architecture of the former refinery.

An Homage to the unpaid and overworked Artisans who have refined our Sweet tastes from the cane fields to the Kitchens of the New World on the Occasion of the demolition of the Domino Sugar Refining Plant
