So… I worked on the bike until 2am last night/this morning.
Woke up this morning and keep on truckin’. Took some time, and two people! The damn fork is the demon, I swear. We had it together 3 different ways before we realized what the REAL way was! After that, it wasn’t so bad. Mounted the handlebars on the gooseneck. Put the seat and sissy bar. Then screwed the pedals on and took it for a maiden voyage. Of course, that was to the bike shop 2 blocks away so they could all gawk at it! Ha. I had to come back and fine tune a bit, and then the journey began.
I hauled it over the Williamsburg Bridge and went to my friends store, Live Fast. For those who remember, that’s the store I used to work at. CC snapped a few photos, we grabbed a beer and came BACK across the bridge. Let me tell you, a chopper cruiser is not bridge haulin’ worthy! Still fun though. We then made it down Bedford and stopped at another friends store, Lawanna’s. My friend Karen took the bike for a short spin up the block and quickly returned as it was blowing her skirt up! Classic… great bike for the Puerto Rican day! Then I drove the bike over the Beehive where my friend Casey, Eileen, Mora and Justine work… showing off the bike some more. And then finally to Kreg’s house, and then home!
I then had to rush my ass to get ready for the show tonight I’m going to see with Eleanor. We’re gonna go check out Skinny Puppy. And, for some reason, I think my mom will remember the name of this band, but not the girl I’m going with. Mom, just call me when you get back from du Nord.
Big thanks go out to Lord William, as he put in a lot of unnecessary time in to helping me build the bike. Obviously, since I rode it all day, I really appreciated it. I probably owe him more beer, but, he still owes me for beer. Will, does that make us even?!
