Mother’s Day Dinner

I went to dinner with Tracy and her mom, and 2 of Tracy’s good friends for dinner at Planet Thai last night. Tracy and I are both fans of Planet Thai, and have decent experiences with it. But last night was horrible! It’s making me really not anticipating going there again soon.

From the time we arrived, ate and then left, it was about 3 1/2 hours. There were only 5 of us. Not really a huge group. Not even enough for the automatic gratuity to be included. And we didn’t order anything overly complex either (one of the dishes was a Pad Thai with vegetables). But, it went from frustrating, to annoying to completely comical. It was still sad the service was completely horrible, but we couldn’t resist and made fun of the entire situation. What made it worse was the manager and server knew they had screwed up, apologized, yet somehow actually didn’t rectify the situation. They continued to screw things up. They offered us a bottle of wine, but we actually only wanted the drinks we had initially ordered. They forgot multiple orders, the food was cold, and incorrectly made drinks. It was appalling really. It just frustrates me when you’ve alerted to them they’ve made mistakes, and take zero or limited effort to actually remedy it. Very unimpressed last night. We saw the restaurant flip tables at least once last night. They had no interest in making sure people were content and happy customers.

Sorry Planet Thai, you’re officially off my recommend to family and friends list.

Full

By the end of last night, I was kaput.

Between Thursday and Sunday I was busy. Really busy. Went to the Ministry shows on Thursday and Friday. Had dinner with a friend on Friday night, before the show. Hung out with friends after the show, which ended at 1:30am. Saturday I had to hussle myself to get up and out and do errands before going to a Yankees game. After the game, I came back to the hood to meet up with Melissa for her birthday BBQ. More meat than you’d ever really want to consume in any giving time. Man. After the BBQ we went out for a few drinks, and I wandered home after people starting fading out. Woke up Sunday around 7am, for the second or third time, with excruciating pain in my stomach. Not fun. I spent most of the morning, and early afternoon on the couch like a beached whale. By about 6 or so, I finally decided it was safe for me to try and eat. Had some dinner, and went to visit with my friends for a bit. My reason for going home… my knees hurt from all the standing I had been doing all weekend.

Sadly, I had to miss Jon’s birthday trip to LVSC. Very bummed. And, to add insult to injury, it was a beautiful day! I can only imagine what it was like in Coplay. Boo meat!

Down, Drunk and Dedicated

The Rangers are down by 2 games already in their semifinal series with the Penguins. Yuck. I started the weekend out by going home and watching the game with friends Melissa and Toby. It was a good game, I must admit. Just not happy with the Rangers blowing a 3-0 lead. Man. We ventured over to Duff’s later, where it was slower than slow and only a handful of people there, but I knew a lot of them. Casey, Stella, Jesse, Mel, Tracy, Toby… and I forget how else. I some how found myself in a fog of beer and confusion and made myself go home before it got out of hand. I managed, lord knows why or how, to wake up around 9:30 Saturday morning. Did some freelance work and was done by noon. Strange, I had planned to work all day but I made just a huge dent in the morning I relaxed the rest of the day. Went to Otto’s and Duff’s on Saturday night, and was with even more people I knew! Great time, lots of fun. The silly factor was high this night. I called it quits early and actually went to get food and unwind at home. Slept in on Sunday and did some more freelance, and watched the Rangers lose a second game.

It’s painful to have my weekend start and end with the Rangers losing a game. Boo.

Five Years

It’s incredible to think it’s been 5 years already.

There is so much which has happened since then… marriages, births, deaths, divorces, traveling, success, failures. Essentially, life as continued to go on, as it should and she would want us to. But, part of the process is wondering where this fine woman would be right now. She’d be either continuing her eduction, or already joining the ranks employment. It always come to mind this time of year, but this year it was brought to my attention a little early. Only because some idiot out there thought it would be cool to author this great porn spamming web application. Target plenty of sites and take advantage of the posting features.

I really have no idea why I was targeted, or this site specifically but it really is over the top. I’ve since added a security feature this morning which disables computers, and allow humans, to add messages.
