OiNK

The death of OiNK isn’t old news. In fact I wrote about it way back in October. However, soon after the event happened, this blog post was authored. It’s been on my to read list for quite some time as it’s very extensive. I finally managed to sneak some time to read it today. Well worth it.

The Rangers’ Sean Avery changes the rules in the NHL

Yesterday, this was legal.

Today, it’s a minor penalty.

“An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the goaltender’s face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make a play,” Colin Campbell, the NHL director of hockey operations said in a statement.

I was lucky enough to see it live, where it will probably be the last time we ever see it.

Rangers denied by geometry

Ugh. What a way to lose a game. It’s overtime, and the puck goes off your skate into your own goal. Unfortunate for the rookie Staal.

Here’s the recap of how the Devils scored 3 of their 4 goals in the unfortunate ways:

The game-opening goal went in off the shaft of Blair Betts’ stick, just as Sergei Brylin was trying to illegally kick the puck in. Zach Parise’s lead goal from the bottom of the faceoff circle changed direction off Brendan Shanahan. John Madden’s winner was banked in off Marc Staal’s leg as he stood alone in front of Lundqvist.

Five Years

It’s incredible to think it’s been 5 years already.

There is so much which has happened since then… marriages, births, deaths, divorces, traveling, success, failures. Essentially, life as continued to go on, as it should and she would want us to. But, part of the process is wondering where this fine woman would be right now. She’d be either continuing her eduction, or already joining the ranks employment. It always come to mind this time of year, but this year it was brought to my attention a little early. Only because some idiot out there thought it would be cool to author this great porn spamming web application. Target plenty of sites and take advantage of the posting features.

I really have no idea why I was targeted, or this site specifically but it really is over the top. I’ve since added a security feature this morning which disables computers, and allow humans, to add messages.
