Graphics are a decade behind

More and more I keep reading or hearing about Processing. I first heard about this about 5 years ago, when it was available for download from MIT directly.

Today was the final straw. I read it in 2 different articles in one page at Computerlove. No big deal, but it’s all of a sudden the trend.

It’s a decade late. Mapping and isolating moments for use in design as a theory and concept isn’t new. At least from a modern era design sense.

Here is a project video I worked on, not the greatest quality as I don’t have the original source remotely handy. This was done in conjunction with NOX and Arup. In the summer of 1999.

The graphics world needs to get over itself, I think.
