Death
No matter how often you are approached with it, it never becomes real.
I learned a friend of mine had a death in the family recently. I didn’t really find out in the best manner of speaking, but, I’m not faulting her for that. It was a completely unexpected and a sudden death. This, alone, makes it more tragic and difficult. She told me it still hasn’t completely impacted her yet. Extremely unfortunate, but honest and revealing. She was fun loving, and a great woman. I only met her briefly, but, she was always very open and sensitive to my friends way of life and her friends. She wanted to be more than a mother, more than a friend, and she was.
For all the deaths I have been through, it still effects me to a degree I’m often disassociated with. Even though this woman, a mother, a friend, a wife, was not individually linked to me life, she was. She was the mother of my friend, and my friend has had to suffer this loss. Maybe I’m more connected mentally and sensitively than most people, and if so, I’m finally ‘ok’ with this ‘symptom’.
At any rate… donations in her name, will be accepted here:

Amanda, much love and respect to your family and friends in this time of loss and transition. Hugs to you and Luna.
Tired (again)
Woke up at 8:30am (Thanks Ele!)
All good though… gave me an early start to the day, sort of. I still have yet to venture out and get some food. Waiting on a few people before that happens. Hope to take the chopper (yet to give it a name yet) later today, but that’s a bit weather dependent. We’ll see how that rolls. Still tired from yesterday, and sore. (Thanks Ele, again!) Made the minor adjustments to the bike, tightened up the fork, adjusted the seat, realigned the rear tire, lowered the seat, and tightened the chain. Hopefully I don’t have to mess with it again. The next question is WHERE am I going to put the damn thing! Oh, and photos of it are coming soon, I swear.
The show was awesome last night… they played nearly a 2 hour set, with a double encore. Amazing. Great cross selection of music, too. Sick. But, again, I have to stop drinking at these shows! The prices are outrageous. I have to start using the flask more, seriously. Jeez.
Rollin’
So… I worked on the bike until 2am last night/this morning.
Woke up this morning and keep on truckin’. Took some time, and two people! The damn fork is the demon, I swear. We had it together 3 different ways before we realized what the REAL way was! After that, it wasn’t so bad. Mounted the handlebars on the gooseneck. Put the seat and sissy bar. Then screwed the pedals on and took it for a maiden voyage. Of course, that was to the bike shop 2 blocks away so they could all gawk at it! Ha. I had to come back and fine tune a bit, and then the journey began.
I hauled it over the Williamsburg Bridge and went to my friends store, Live Fast. For those who remember, that’s the store I used to work at. CC snapped a few photos, we grabbed a beer and came BACK across the bridge. Let me tell you, a chopper cruiser is not bridge haulin’ worthy! Still fun though. We then made it down Bedford and stopped at another friends store, Lawanna’s. My friend Karen took the bike for a short spin up the block and quickly returned as it was blowing her skirt up! Classic… great bike for the Puerto Rican day! Then I drove the bike over the Beehive where my friend Casey, Eileen, Mora and Justine work… showing off the bike some more. And then finally to Kreg’s house, and then home!
I then had to rush my ass to get ready for the show tonight I’m going to see with Eleanor. We’re gonna go check out Skinny Puppy. And, for some reason, I think my mom will remember the name of this band, but not the girl I’m going with. Mom, just call me when you get back from du Nord.
Big thanks go out to Lord William, as he put in a lot of unnecessary time in to helping me build the bike. Obviously, since I rode it all day, I really appreciated it. I probably owe him more beer, but, he still owes me for beer. Will, does that make us even?!
More changes…
Made a few more changes to the blog today. Added some new graphics into the rotation. Widen the page up. And some other cleaning issues. Should be all set now!
