Creations needed
I need to create something… and soon.
For one, I’ve been sick for over a month now. At first, I was unwilling to acknowledge it but now it’s really evident. For the better part of two weeks, and primarily in the evenings and/or mornings, I will have something which sounds very similar to whooping cough, followed by me coughing up mucus. Some times the force of the coughs are so hard, it induces vomiting. Oh yea, it’s been real fun. It’s completely thrown off my social planning entirely. I’ll have to leave once the cough starts because I know where it’s headed. It’s really a freaking pain the arse.
But, even so, I’m dying to produce something soon. I need to. My emotional levels have been pretty stable lately… still, there is a desire or drive pounding at my chest. I think one night, or two, this week I’m going to duct tape myself to the chair and make a few more. I’d like to get 2 out this week. And shoot for 3-5 during the month of August.
On the other hand, I’ve really been enjoying my summer, sickness aside. Seen fireworks, albeit from a distance, at Coney Island, been to a few BBQs, gone shooting (not enough though) and random road trips. I’ve been enjoying the weekends doing, well, not very much! No freelance is actually kind of enjoyable. Granted, the cough sort of keeps me limited to what I can and can’t do. But I’ve squeezed in quite a few fun things. Glanced at the calendar for next month, and it’s pretty chill. A weekend in Maine/New Hampsire, only a handful of concerts and nothing much else.
Summer of ‘08 is going splendidly. But I do need to make something, and soon.
